THEO HELEN LYONS SOMMER

SOMMER, THEO HELEN LYONS - age 87, of Knoxville passed gracefully Tuesday evening, April 23, 2013 at Tennova Residential Hospice, after a short battle with lung cancer. Theo was a native of Corbin, KY. She was a graduate of Christian College in Columbia, Missouri, where she received a Bachelor of Arts. Theo then attended Powers School of Modeling in New York, where she modeled for several years. She returned to Kentucky and married Dr. Francis X. Sommer, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by nephew, Mark Lyons. She enjoyed bird watching and loved all animals. Theo was a devoted and giving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by children, Francis X. Sommer III, Barbara Sommer and husband Michael Konrad all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Sara, Raquel, Brian, Anna Claire and Francis Xavier IV; brother, Dr. Carson Lyons and wife Dottie of Williamsburg, VA; daughter in law, Renee' Crane; niece, Kim Laughlin and husband Larry of Aiken, SC. The Sommer family would like to give special thanks to Theo's angel, Melissa Yardly and to Sharon and all the wonderful staff at Tennova Hospice. The family will receive from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday followed by a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m. at the Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel.
