Wallace Carney "Wally" Johnson

JOHNSON, WALLACE "WALLY" CARNEY - age 86 passed, away Saturday, February 4, 2012. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of Everett W. and Olive C. Johnson. Wallace attended Central High School, and was a graduate of Temple University (Philadelphia, PA) and proudly served his country in World War II. He was a member in good standing of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. Wallace began an illustrious career as a Systems Analyst for the City of Philadelphia and retired as Director of Strategic Planning for KFC Corporation in Louisville, KY. As a life member of the Episcopalian Church, Wallace served diligently, in many capacities within its hierarchy at St. Augustine and St. Luke's in Philadelphia, PA and Christ Church Cathedral in Louisville, KY. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine; second wife, Diana; and long time companion, Clifforda Moore; as well as siblings, Everett, Pauline Coles, Olivejo, and Boyd. Wallace is survived by three sons, Stephen Harris Johnson, Brian Carney Johnson, David Burwell Johnson; daughter, Ellen Marie Kafalas; step daughter, Allison Yeaman; and five grandchildren, Geoffrey and Stephanie Johnson, Thomas and Christina Kafalas and Skye Ariel Johnson; as well as numerous other family and friends. His journey was eased by the kind, compassionate and professional assistance of the staff at Heritage Assisted Living and we are thankful for their loving care. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Church of The Ascension, 800 Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919.
