Nancy Lamb Obituary

LEO — Nancy Ellen (Fischer) Lamb, 67 departed this life on Sunday March 26, 2017, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Inpatient Center in Fort Wayne surrounded by family and friends. By the Grace of God she departed quite peacefully.
Born, January 4, 1950, in Garrett to William and Victoria (Case) Fischer, Nancy graduated from Avilla School in 1968. For many years she was a hairdresser and ultimately went into nursing school to obtain her nursing degree. She was employed by DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn and ultimately became a surgical nurse. Most recently she was employed by Lutheran Health Network.
Nancy is survived by niece Ashley N. Steffe-Dubois and great nephew Gage L. Steffe, who were always known to her as the children she never had.
She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, Alice Huth of Fort Wayne, Donald (Connie) Fischer of Fort Wayne, Stephen Fischer of Fort Wayne, Charles Fischer of Leo and Roberta (Nick) Weber of Kendallville; sister-in-law Esther Fischer of Avilla; brothers-in-law Kent Ihrie of Kendallville and Amos DeLong of Auburn; nieces and nephews Tony (Gayle) Huth, Andy Huth, Jimmy Huth, Donnie Fischer, Bernie Fischer, Sonja Hollis, Matthew Montel, Ashley Steffe-Dubois, Greg (Loris) Lamb, Suzie (Frank) Joseph, Richard (Shannon) Hippenhamer, JoAnn (Jeff) Sparkman, Thomas (Christie) Fischer, Tony (Tammy) Mauier, Amy Fischer, Renee (Brian) Ramsey, Chad (Dawn) Ihrie, Mark (Alyssia) Ihrie and Sara (Chase) Paduano. Also surviving are several great-nieces and nephews and their respective families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas Fischer; five sisters, Delores Lamb, Barbara Hippenhammer, Irene DeLong, Ruth Ihrie and Jeanette Fischer; brothers-in-law Ronnie Lamb, Don Huth and Richard Hippenhammer Sr.; and sister-in-law, Sherry Fischer.
Nancy touched more lives than we can possibly ever imagine and had a true heart, caring for people of all ages. During her mother's ailing health, Nancy was the major care provider and through her guidance the family as a whole provided mother peace and companionship.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn with Father Timothy Wrozek officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn. Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 South Wayne Street, Waterloo, with a Rosary recited at 8 p.m. Additional calling will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Nancy was such a wonderful lady and good friend. She also greeted me with a smile and hug.. Nancy and I worked together at Lutheran and SSC... I will so miss my friend. My last memory was her giving me a hug and work Nov 4th and telling me to enjoy retirement and she loved me and she would miss me!! My sympathy to all Nancy's family.
