ST. JOE - Ray Moore, age 94, of St. Joe, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Auburn Village.
He was born on April 28, 1929, in Blackwater, Virginia, and raised by his parents, John and Liz Moore.
Mr. Moore honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.
He married Carolyn J. Osmun on July 3, 1952, in Angola, Indiana. She preceded him in death in April 2015.
Mr. Moore worked at BorgWarner and then Warner Gear in Auburn for 30 years, retiring in 1984.
Ray attended Newville Church of Christ and he was a member of Auburn American Legion Post 97.
He and Carolyn enjoyed traveling to Bluegrass Festivals and camping while they were there.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Kirk and Susan Moore, of Coldwater Lake, Michigan, and Anthony and Margaret Moore, of Kokomo, Indiana; daughters, Kathy Fritts, of Bluffton, Indiana, and Althea Winchester, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan and Karla Fritts, Amanda and Chris Esterling, Tyson Fritts, Heath and Jacquelyn Hook, Nathan Hook, Michael Rice, Calista Gerard, Colleena Moore, Caitlin Moore and Cassandra Rosene; 25 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Reba and Rex Gonser, of Auburn, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Moore; one daughter; Fonda Hook; and several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St., Auburn.
Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation on Tuesday at 1 p.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Jon Hunter officiating.
Burial with military honors will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Ray to the DeKalb Humane Society, 5730 C.R. 11A, Auburn, IN 46706.
