Glenn Potts Obituary
The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Glenn ("Hammer") Potts of 1015 Kelley Street will be held Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the New Community Church on South Davis Road. Dr. W. T. Edmondson will officiate. Burial will be in the Meadoway Gardens Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Potts, a native of LaGrange, was born July 7, 1955 and was the son of the late Amos Potts and Marie Douglas. He was raised by loving parents, Willie Hand and Annie Potts. He was a 1974 graduate of Troup High School and served his country in the United States Navy. He was a dedicated employee of the Troup County Board of Commissioners in the Tax Assessor's Office for 33 years. He was a member of Wehadkee Baptist Church.
His memories will be cherished by his loving wife, Jimmie Lou Potts, LaGrange; and sons: LeVay (Stephanie) Cameron, Conyers, GA; Thmega (Carman) Potts, Fayetteville, GA; four sisters: Brenda Davis, Cathy (Terry) Johnson, Jackie (Kenneth) Bryant, Atlanta; Joann Askew, LaGrange; four brothers: Larry Potts, Atlanta; John Amos "Thurman" Potts, Detroit, MI; Lamar (Donna) Askew and William (Tracey) Hand, Atlanta; aunts and uncles: Rebecca Atkinson, Eva Smith, LaGrange; Nellie Potts, Detroit, MI; Jessie Potts, Brooklyn, NY; John G. (Jean) Potts, Southfield, MI; Kathy Potts, New York; grandchildren: Y'Vondria Cameron, Brianna and Kianna Strickland, Kiias and Kiian Hodnett, Justin Holley and JaQuez Potts, Coyae Marchman, Jenzleigh Elyse Tucker, Malia Freeman; many nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
The family will be at their home.

I was so shock to learn that another angel whom touch so many in the community had been called hom. Mr. Potts AKA Coach Potts to me and my family was truly a warrior and always spoke positive word into the players life my son is 17 now he was 7 when he first met and begin to learn the sport of basketball. Coach Potts alway told him keep it up man you going somewhere! still saying the same thing last year as we played against Callaway last year. Positive people with love for the kids are hard to find. R.I.P Coach
