James Edward Lloyd

James Edward Lloyd, 96, of Zion, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021. James was born June 18, 1924 in Tupelo, MS to Joseph and Lillie Lloyd. On March 30, 1944 he married Evelyn Bernice Christenson in Itawamba County, MS. He worked for North Shore Gas for many years and was a member of the Amvets, American Legion and VFW. James proudly served his country in the United States Army. He is a veteran of WWII, 903rd Field Artillery Battalion 78th Infantry Division. James is survived by his children, Bonnie (Murrell) Rogers of Belmont, MS, James R. Lloyd of Marinette, WI, Gary (Gail) Lloyd of Zion, IL, David (Marty) Lloyd of Zion, IL, Nick (Marylou) Lloyd of Zion, IL, Robin Harnden of Wadsworth, IL and Rhonda Lloyd of Zion, IL; grandchildren, Jimmy and Andy Harnden, Matt and Courtney Colangelo, Athena Lloyd, Joshua and Caleb Lloyd, Tiffany Alm, Tabitha Holst, David and Shawna Lloyd, Jay Lloyd, Shelly Mulford, Kelly and Joe Lloyd, Cindy Puckett, Tonya Jones, Danny and Rodney Rogers; 33 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and sister, Lola Hacker. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn; and brother, Kelly Lloyd. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL 60099 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt.
