Shortly after an honorable discharge from service, Ron committed to a career in service to his community as he joined the Pueblo Fire Department, where he served for 27 years, 8 years as captain, before retiring in 2012. He was blessed with wonderful, lasting friendships with other retired firefighters. He enjoyed having breakfast with them on a weekly basis until his recent hospitalization. Beyond work, Ron enjoyed gardening and woodworking, creating beautiful furniture and toys for his family. He was known as the guy could fix almost anything and he was always willing to help neighbors, family and friends. His primary passions were hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. Rain or shine, you would find Ron walking his dog, fishing with Forrest, hiking with Kelsey, and hunting with Linda. Ron Yoder lived a life of fulfilling service to his country, community, family, and friends. He is profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 5 at 10 a.m. at Praise Assembly of God, 2000 Troy Avenue, Pueblo West. The Pueblo Fire Department will commemorate his life and his service with an honor guard and other traditions to pay tribute to their comrade.
