Kurt Parkinson Obituary
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret A. Parkinson; his two daughters, Jennifer E. Parkinson and Crystal K. Parkinson; grandchildren, Judy A. Parkinson, Andres T. Padilla, Tyson R. Parkinson, Stacy L. Erickson, Lacy M. Erickson and Kurtis R. Langdon; father, Hugh F. Parkinson; mother, Nita and Leonard Warshauer; brother, Wade J. Parkinson and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kurt was a respected and valued member of the Las Vegas Community. Kurt was a graduate of Robertson High School class of 1982. As the emergency manager for the county of San Miguel and city of Las Vegas governed by Homeland Security he strived to improve the community and the lives around him.
Kurt was once a volunteer member of the Cabo Lucero Fire Department and active member of the New Mexico Search and Rescue as the field coordinator and incident commander. Kurt made it his life dream to help and assist others. Kurt B. Parkinson was an officer of the Masonic Chaplin Lodge #2 AF&AM.
A valued member of the Eastern Stars Santa Fe Chapter #19 OES, Kurt was a past patron of centennial chapter #74 OES, as well as a member of the Ballet Abyad Shriners of Albuquerque.
As Kurt's final act of service he donated his organs and tissue to save the lives of others one final time. Kurt's life and the impact he has made will forever live on through the lives that he touched and the family and friends that are left behind. Kurt will be strongly missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of life memorial will be announced in the spring, so that he may be honored by those who love, respect and miss him.

Our family was blessed by the friendship that Kurt showed all of us, we will always miss him very much. Was always so helpful with any internet problems we asked him about, and always a dear friend to our son, Karl. He was a wonderful grandfather to all his grandchildren... RIP Kurt

My prayers go out to the Parkinson family. Kurt was a wonderful friend & boss. I enjoyed the time I worked with Kurt, he was a very smart man, ready to help anyone who asked and will be missed. Rest In Peace.

Many of my fondest memories are of Kurt as a young child, going along on pack trips in the mountains, and horseback in Las Vegas parades along with his grandfather Cap, and father Hugh. Were it not for the example they set and care the family extended during my life and the lives of many young men at Hermits Peak Boys Ranch, our worlds would have been dramatically different. Some families and especially some people "are Called" to help others. Kurt was one of these. I am eternally grateful to the entire Parkinson family. May God Bless you always and abundantly. "Billy"
