Carlos Bermudez

Born in El Cargadero, Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico on May 17, 1933, Carlos Bermudez passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 4, 2022 in his Los Angeles home at 89 years old. Carlos is survived by his wife, Evangelina; his brother, Dr. Ignacio Bermudez; 5 children: Sergio, Carlos, Rosario, Armando, and Eugenia; 16 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
One of seven siblings, Carlos worked various warehouse, farming, and factory jobs to support his household. He maintained a lifelong love of nature inspired by growing up in the mountains. Some of the happiest days of his early life were spent on horseback in the Mexican mountains forging trails. In 1958, Carlos married Eva and in 1967 the couple purchased their Lincoln Heights home where they together raised a family that was the pride and joy of Carlos' life.
Carlos touched all he knew with his kindness, humor, and storytelling ability - quick to offer fruit to and discuss life lessons with neighbors, passersby or friends. Carlos will be missed by many, but the seeds he planted (both figuratively and literally) will live on for the ages.
Carlos' funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lincoln Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carlos can be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
