Esther Geller Obituary
Esther Marcus Geller passed away on December 7, 2012 at the Jewish Home for the Aging. She leaves behind four daughters, Laura, Miria, Irene and Rochelle; six grandchildren, Cynthia (dec), Stephen, Diana, Derek, Alex and Shaina; and five great-grandchildren, Matt, Adrian, Dana, Cole, Zane and Eben, and one great-great-grandchild, Jack. Born February 5, 1914 in Vilna, Lithuania, Esther came to America with her mother Dina in 1931. She was married to Samuel Louis Geller. A homemaker for 73 years, Esther played the mandolin, excelled at tennis and was known affectionately as "Mamele." Esther, her own person from first to last, had an indomitable spirit.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 1pm, Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries - Hollywood Hills 800-600-0076.

Rochelle and family: I cannot imagine what you are experiencing at the loss of your loving and beautiful mother. I lived across the hill from you and would walk home from Washington Irving with Rochelle. Your mother always welcomed me with such love, warmth, kindness... and became the first of many Jewish Mothers who I eagerly embraced over the years. I moved back down here from Santa Barbara in 2003 after my father passed, and would love to speak with Rochelle. My number is 818-674-9618. You are all in my prayers.

Esther (Grampsy) was an athlete. Living alongside the Santa Monica and Venice strand, she appreciated being able to get outdoors to walk, jog and play tennis. Devoted to family, and always willing to play the mandolin upon request, she brought light into my life.
