Joan Lambert Obituary
1939 - 2014 Joan Randall Lambert of Tustin, California, formerly of Scarsdale, New York, passed away peacefully at home on March 14 surrounded by her family. For 52 years she was the beloved wife of Harry Lambert. She leaves behind her husband Harry, three children Garry (Bea), Heather and Priscilla (Sean) and four grandchildren Connor, Gavin, Alex and Lauren. Funeral services will be next week in New York, provided by Fred McGrath and Son Funeral Home in Bronxville. To Harry Lambert and children,
For no special reason, I just Googled the name of a young lady named Joan Randall whom I knew a long time ago, while she was a student at Trinity and I was at Georgetown...
I send to you my sincere condolences and sympathy on Joan's recent passing.
I remember Joan as an intelligent, articulate, and attractive young woman. In 1959-60 or so, she accompanied me to a concert at the Carter-Baron amphitheater in Washington (not too far from the Randall home on 16th Street, NW), featuring Louis Armstrong and his orchestra. Afterward, Joan and I went to the lounge at the Hotel Charles to listen to some jazz by Booker T. Coleman and his quintet, when we were surprised that the great Louis and several sidemen arrived, to "sit in" until well into the wee hours...I never forgot that magic music...
I apologize to this lengthy message, and I will remember Joan and you, her family, in my prayers. May she rest in peace.
