It is so hard to believe that it has been 9 years since Karl has passed away. I still miss dancing with him! He was truly a wonderful dancer and a gentle and caring human being. He is gracing heaven with his presence.

It was a sock to hear about Karl. We had been dating for the last year and we had our up and downs. On January 14, we made a date for our 1 year anniversary at the Don Coco in Acton and then Dancing at the VFW. He never call me for our date and I was shocked by the news. Karl will always be in my heart and in everyone's heart who he danced with. He was a smooth dancer and such a gentleman. But I got to know the other side of him. He loved hiking, or just take nice rides. We walked the LA river, climed the mountain in Angeles Crest. He drove in snow for our first date and he made it. We attend weddings together and talked about ours. We had a barbeque on his birthday and he was so happy, relax. I'm sitting here look out my window writing this and can almost see him sitting outside on my patio overlooking the empty lot with the tree you used to love. Karl you are at a better place and you don't have to worry anymore. You are in peace now and you will always be in my heart. Miss you Honneybun.

The angels in heaven wanted the last dance, took him by the hand and promised that everyone on the floor would dance in the line of direction. Psalms 91:11-12. Those of us who had the pleasure of dancing with Karl will think of him fondly when the band plays Waltz Across Texas. We thank him for sharing his talent with us. May God comfort his family and friends who have lost their loved one at much too young an age.

It always made my night to see Karl's smiling face walking towards me to ask for a dance. He was always such a gentleman, on and off the dance floor, and a dear friend. I will think of him every time I dance the two step, and will miss him always!

I remember Karl challenging our junior high school dress code. Eventually, the dress code was dropped. I remember his newspaper. I wish I had kept some of them. He was the first person I remember that stood up to authority and made them back down. He did this as a young man. What a sad thing to hear of his passing.

What a shock to hear of Karl's passing. I shared many a dance with him in recent years. He taught me how to mambo, and we always had great fun swing dancing. His passion for music and dancing was infectious. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Karl's death. He was such a delightful person; we were classmates at Lanier and Lamar and friends as young adults. I so fondly remember Karl's passion about news reporting and his absolute glee at writing a good headline! I also will never forget the happy times together sailing on Galveston Bay with his family. Rest in God's embrace, dear friend!

I was so sorry to hear of Karls passing. I remember the Doerner family so vividly! From the days my mother dropped my brother and I off at school, I would see Mark walking down Westheimer, the boy with the long blond hair is all I knew at that time. As we grew to become friends- I recall his unusually forward thinking family. The little boys Nelson and Randall, Karl and the Newspaper, Allison with her lovely earthy style. The house on Locke Lane. What a brilliant, creative family. They are cemented in my memory- more warmly than I can say.
I look forward to the day, when every tear shall be wiped from our eye as the Lord Himself promises. Today Karl is more alive than he has ever been- in the place prepared for him by a God who loves him beyond our understanding. Bless you Karl and your family- see you on the other side.

I rode many miles with Karl when we were members of the Houston bike club. I loved all of his stories and his sense of humor. I especially remember dancing with him at the Winedale Festival back in the day. Texas 2 step in one direction only...we didn't know how to turn around! He will be dearly missed. My prayers are with the family.

Karl was a very special person. He approached his work in a very dedicated and professional manner. In his position with our company he interacted with all employees and was the first person guests would meet when visiting our office. All comments we received about Karl were about how positive and helpful he had been.
It was a privilege to have worked with Karl. He will be missed greatly.

Karl was the most pleasant gentleman I had the pleasure of knowing. He was an exceptional worker that no matter what circumstance he faced he always had a smile on his face and took pride in his work. He always took the time to say hello and asked how your day was going. I was very sadden to hear of his passing especially as I talked with him on the Thursday before his last day with TMM. Thank you Karl for being a great guy. I will miss you!

Karl - I remember you from Lamar -- you were a classmate (1972) and a friend... very bright, always crusading for the students' voice in a time when we didn't have much of a voice. You and I never passed in the hall that you didn't have a smile and a greeting. I wish you well in your next adventure and look forward to catching up.
