Marc Jeffrey Gould

July 11, 1950 - March 10, 2017 Marc Jeffrey Gould, 66, son of Joseph and Dorothy Gould. Born July 11, 1950. Died at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage on Friday, March 10th. He died of cancer less than two weeks after diagnosis. Marc was born in Los Angeles, spending his early years in Silverlake and his teen years in Hancock Park. He graduated from Ivanhoe Elementary, Thomas Starr King Middle School and Los Angeles High School. Marc went on to receive a bachelors degree from UC Berkeley and a Masters in International Relations from the University of Chicago. He served in the Peace Corp in Columbia. An Eagle Scout himself, Marc worked professionally as a Boy Scout Executive for several years and later as a teacher for many years including two stints teaching English in Taiwan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved Cyndi Goldman. He is survived by his brother David, step-children Evan Goldman & Amy Hogancamp and step-grandchildren Brooke and Natalie Goldman, nieces Sarah and Yona Chankin-Gould, nephew Rabbi D'ror Chankin-Gould and 3 great nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park on Wednesday, March 15th, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jewish National Fund or the American Cancer Society.
