The greatest gift anyone can give is of their time. Thank you Marvin for giving of your time, and teaching me all about jazz. I'm a jazz singer today because of you. Thank you for caring about what I thought, someone like me who's mind could never compare to yours...for sending me the book "The Gifts of the Jews", and for your concern through my own cancer diagnosis. You were like a father to me...I love you. God bless the Kaplan family, and please know your father blessed my life more than I can express.

Dear Fran and Family,
I know that Marvin will be remembered as a loving person with a true gentleness of character. I only met him once and enjoyed talking to him. Distance prevents me from attending the service, but my prayers are with you all.
