Paul Stanley Greenberg

1949 - 2022

1949 - 2022 Dr. Paul Stanley Greenberg, of Long Beach, passed away from cancer at the age of 73 on March 20, 2022. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his wife Diana, son George (Rebecca) Greenberg, daughter Jamie (Ramiro) Montes De Oca, brother Robert (Julie) Greenberg, and three grandsons Oliver and Henry Greenberg and Paul Montes De Oca. Dr. Greenberg practiced Cardiology and Internal Medicine in Long Beach, Los Alamitos and Seal Beach for 32 years and was a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He grew up in Los Angeles, attended the University of Southern California for his undergraduate studies and then medical school at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. He interned at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and did his residency at UCI. After a two-year fellowship in Cardiology at UCI/Long Beach Memorial Medical Center under Dr. Myrvin Ellestat, Dr. Greenberg went on to be a research fellow with Dr. Ellestat and published numerous papers. He met Diana in medical school when she was studying to be a pharmacist, and they were married for almost 50 years. They were founders of the Janet and Madge Honeycutt Scholarship fund at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. Through their efforts, many students were awarded money that helped offset tuition. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his children, three grandchildren and wife. He and his family were members at Temple Beth David Synagogue, of Westminster, CA. A funeral will be held at Home of Peace Memorial Park & Mortuary, in Los Angeles on March 27, 2022 at 11 a.m.; anyone who knew Paul is encouraged to join. Contributions in Dr. Greenberg's memory may be made to the Los Angeles or Orange County chapters of the American Heart Association.
