Mary Miller Obituary

MILLER, Mary Margaret

Mary Margaret Miller, formerly of Azusa, passed away on Friday, March 29 after a brief illness. She was 66 years old.
Born on March 14, 1947 in Estherville, Iowa, Mary lived in Iowa until her family moved to Pasadena in 1957. After
attending Eagle Rock High School, Mary went on to graduate from Cal State, Los Angeles. After earning her degree, she worked as a teacher's aide at a continuation high school in Pasadena for a few years. Mary then went to work for the U.S. Postal Service where she was employed for 30 years until her retirement in 2002. While at the U.S.P.S., Mary was most proud of her role of ambassador in which she visited schools to teach kids about stamps and stamp collecting.
Her family will remember Mary as a gifted writer who loved animals and children. She had a keen sense of humor and a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Mary got a tremendous amount of enjoyment from her participation with the City of Hope cancer survivor group. She genuinely cared about other people, and did whatever she could to help those in need. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Marie Miller. She is survived by a sister Patricia Eyberg of Turlock, CA, a sister Kay Valois of Florence, OR, and a brother Morris Miller of Azusa, CA. Mary is also survived by a nephew Rand Eyberg of Stowe, VT and a niece Kim Valois of Vacaville, CA., and Shelley Valois of Memphis, TN.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 11 am at the Latter Day Saint Chapel, 1645 N San Gabriel Canyon Road, Azusa CA.
In lieu of flowers, Mary's family asks that contributions be made to the City of Hope, Duarte, CA.
