Josephine (Jo, Josie, G-Ma) Marie Patronite Shasha Josephine Marie Patronite Shasha passed away on December 12, 2020 at 7:11 PM in Long Beach, CA. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1925, and moved to California in 1943, the day after she graduated from high school. She met her husband, Anthony (Tony) Shasha of 54 years in 1944. They married in 1945. Tony preceded her in death in 1999. She resided in Downey, CA for 56 years. She worked for Safeway Stores from 1948 until 1980. Josie was the first woman to whom they offered the position of Store Manager! (she did not accept). Loved by all she knew for her kindness and beautiful nature; she was an amazing artist and cook. She loved to travel, which she did in her later years as her "Tony" would not fly! She is survived by five children, Richard, (Sue), Marilyn (George) Hernandez, Kathy (Jim) Davis, Joe (Ana) and Anthony Jr, (Debbie); 8 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Due to current social restrictions a memorial service is deferred.
