Anne J. Wiest
Richland
Anne J. Wiest, 95, passed away on March 12, 2016, at the University of Connecticut Health Center, John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, Conn. She was the widow of Carlos K. Wiest, who died November 25, 1986.
Born in Plymouth, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Clara (Rowe) James.
Mrs. Wiest graduated from Plymouth High School and Wilson College, Chambersburg, Pa. She taught at Richland High School, Richland, in the Bethel School District, Bethel, Pa. and at two elementary schools in the Sarasota School District, Sarasota, Fla.
She was well-known for her theorem paintings and was a juried member of the Reading-Berks Guild of Craftsmen. In 1976, she was invited to and did participate in the Bicentennial Arts and Crafts show held in Philadelphia. She was an active supporter of the Richland Community Library.
She is survived by her son, Carlos K. Wiest, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen; her daughter, Anhared W. Stowe and her husband, John; grandsons, John W. Stowe and his wife, Carla, Kurt J. Wiest and his wife, Corissa, Kyle J. Wiest and his wife, Anne, and Karl J. Wiest and his wife, Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wiest was predeceased by her brother, John W. James; and her sister, Mary J. Audelewicz; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of her family.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Richland Community Library, 111 E. Main Street, Richland, PA 17087.
