Columbus, GA- Mrs. Clara Mae Green Bell passed away Sunday at the Columbus Hospice House. She was 80 years of age.
A daughter of the late Henry and Martha Manley Green, Mrs. Bell was born in Eufaula, AL and was a graduate of Henry County Training School. A former member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Eufaula, she was currently a member of Canaan Baptist Church. She was a Eastern Star, Modern Free Affiliation. She served as a childcare provider for over 60 years. She was preceded in death by 12 siblings.
Surviving her departure with cherished memories, include: a son, Kenneth J. Bell (Michelle); two daughters, Yeterries Smith (Albert) and D. Michell Bowens (Matthias); five grandchildren, Kendaryl, Kie-Aaron, Jasmine, Robert and Anastasia; three great grandchildren, Kamariya, Kie'Auri and Kyle; devoted in-laws, Albert Bell, Ed Davis, Johnnie L. Lowe (James), Cora Herring (Isaac), Mary D. Clark (Robert), Mildred Bell and Gussie Bell; loving friends, Maggie Stephens and Ann Wright; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Bell will be today, Friday, August 18 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Baptist Church with Bishop Ronald Harris, pastor officiating. The interment will follow in Ft.
