Columbus,, Georgia- Pastor Xavier Maddox, 53, of Columbus, GA passed Monday, May 14, 2018.
Funeral service will be 12:00 noon EST, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Mt. Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 9980 GA Highway 219, Hamilton, GA with Pastor Timothy Maddox, officiating. Interment will be Monday, May 21, 2018 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is Friday, May 18, 2018 from 3 - 8 p.m. EST according to Taylor Funeral Home, Inc.
Pastor Maddox was born November 26, 1964 in Columbus, GA to Pastor Arch Maddox and Gloria Maddox. He was a graduate of Columbus High School. He was the Pastor of Twenty Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church, Columbus, GA for 17 years.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Maddox; his parents, Pastor Arch Maddox and Gloria Maddox; two daughters, Aisha (Elder Marcus) Scott of Byron, GA and Theron (Jarvis) Brown of Warner Robbins, GA; two brothers, Pastor Timothy (Cassandra) Maddox of Columbus, GA and Venson (Meatra) Maddox of Columbus, GA; one sister, Arnethia (Pastor Lacoya) Day of Midland, GA; three grandchildren, Javon Brown and Jacob Brown both of Warner Robbins, GA and Kerrington Scott of Byron, GA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.Please visit www.thetaylorfuneralhome.com to sign the online guest registry.

I had the pleasure to walk the halls of Columbus High School with Pastor Maddox.He was quiet but friendly.He stood tall not just in statue but with integrity. He was an awesome person to be around. I praise God for the gift(s) He deposited in Pastor Maddox; the gifts that he shared with thousands of people. Mrs. Maddox, Theron and Aisha, so sorry to hear of Pastor Maddox home going. I will never forget him, 24 years this year, March 30th he eulogized my dear mother, Mother Jerylean Harmon Davis at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Lizella, Ga. He was a great preacher, teacher and friend. If it be the Lord's willing, several members are planning to attend home going services and greet you all at Mt. Hill. Much Love to you all.
