In loving memory of Alan Miller Porter
I was a boy soprano under his direction, and music continues to shape my soul. I carry his lessons with me and hope to teach what he taught me to my son. His legacy sings on.

Elaine - I am so sorry to hear of Alan's passing. I was just thinking of him because I happened to be listening to a performance of Honneger's King David, which I participated in about 30 years ago when you guys lived in Fayetteville (I drove from Ohio to sing in it!). I think fondly back on the time when I had the privilege of performing with the chorus - my love of music has never left me. Alan was truly a blessing to many. Hugs to you and your family.

Alan Porter believed in me as a singer in the Wilmington Choral Society and helped me to perform at a higher level. He was a good and caring man. May he rest in peace...Tracy Morris

A grateful remembrance of four years in the Methodist College Chorus and the joyful leadership and generous spirit of Alan Porter.
Tune: Methodist College Alma Mater
Hail to thee, dear Alan Porter,
Raise we now our praise for thee!
Singing forth our highest praises
Learning, singing, right on key.
You inspired and led with patience
