Alan Roach Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 20 to Mar. 21, 2023.
Alan J. Roach passed away on March 17, 2023 at the age of 66. Alan grew up in Stoneham, Massachusetts; raised his family in Billerica Massachusetts; retired and most recently resided in Wells, Maine and North Fort Meyers, Florida.

Alan was born on October 6, 1956 and was the proud son of Bernard and the late Teresa Roach.

He was a loving husband to his forever soul mate, the late Mary (Lawlor) Roach. Proud father of Patrick (Deanna) Roach, Brenden Roach, and Alana (Daniel) Pope. Smitten grandfather of Patrick, Jr, Domenic, Audrey, Scarlett, and Nathaniel. He was the loving brother of John (Joanne) Roach, Barbara (Ronald) Heestand, Janice (William) Bogasky, and Thomas Roach. He is also survived by his wonderful "outlaws" (the Lawlor Family).

Alan grew up visiting Maine with his family and friends and was a proud member of Local 103 IBEW where he retired after 36 years. Upon retirement, he moved to Wells full-time and enjoyed spending time cooking, gardening, kayaking, visiting the beach, and spending time with his friends at Litchfield's. Alan shared a love of sports with his family, friends, and grandchildren and he enjoyed watching his grandchildren compete any chance he could.

Alan had some of the best friends you could ever have asked for. From camping trips to Patriots games, the memories and stories will always live on.

The loss will be felt most by his grandkids who lovingly called him Pa. They will miss his awful dad jokes, silly pranks, supportive text messages and phone calls, but most of all his tangible love and hugs.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to: Mary (Lawlor) Roach Memorial. Checks can be mailed to: Mary (Lawlor) Roach Memorial Scholarship Fund, Greater Lowell Community Foundation, 100 Merrimack Street; Suite 202, Lowell, MA 01852.

Our sincerest condolences to all of my cousins on Alan's passing. I hadn't seen him in a little over 8 years. I wish I had known he had moved to SWF, as we moved to Naples, FL 8 years ago and he was only 30-40 minutes North of me. I would've loved nothing more than to have spent some fun times with him, with so much to do down here. Despite the short distance, day trips usually turn into overnighters when fun, Family and or friends are involved. I always looked up to him as a cousin, even more so as an opposing Football player in our Stoneham vs Woburn High School rivalry days! He left us much too soon. Godspeed Alan, you will be missed greatly. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Though I haven't seen Alan in years, he has always held a special place in my heart. I remember his kindness, his smile, his sweetness, his deep love for Mary, his children and his entire family. He made this world a better place. 'Til we meet again, my friend.

Shocking that we´ve suddenly lost this wonderful guy, a great friend, this week... our hearts are breaking for his family facing tragedy once again, but in our minds we are picturing his joyful reunion with his sweet Mary in the great Beyond... St Patrick´s Day will always be his now.
