Dear Margaret and family: I worked for Dr. Van Dusen in the late '70s at the University of Pittsburgh. He was so kind and caring and talked always of his love for you. I was 20 years old, then, and he influenced my life in many ways. He was patient and kind and was the first person I ever met that drank hot water during the day! I always think of him when I have a cup of hot water. So sorry for your loss, RIP Dr. Van...

Dr. Van was a wonderful man. I worked for him on and off at University of Pittsburgh. He was gentle and comfortable to be around. A true gentleman. He dearly loved his family and talked about them often. He will be missed.

Dr. Van Dusen was a friend to me when I served on the School of Education faculty at the University of Pittsburgh. And, he was later instrumental in recommending me as the Director of Educational Services at WQED, where he served on the Board. I will be eternally grateful to him for serving as a resource in so many community areas.

As a former "GSPIA wife," I knew and appreciated Van for his charm, wisdom, and willingness to engage. I hope he knew how much he accomplished during his lifetime!
