Annie J. Day, 60, of Viper, passed away on Tuesday-Feb. 18, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard. She was the daughter of the late Ransom Lewis and the late Irene Turner Lewis. By occupation, she was a customer service manager and was employed by Wal-Mart. Annie enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, being on the computer, and she was an avid flower gardener. She was a member of the Jeff Missionary Baptist Church and had been a life-long resident of Leslie and Perry Counties.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ransom and Irene Lewis; two brothers, James Ray Stevens and Cleo Stephens; and one granddaughter, Jazmin Sizemore.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Paul Day; three daughters, Patricia Sizemore, Tabitha Ann Danner and Bob, and Teresa Sue Day; one son, Robert Saylor and Eva; seven grandchildren, Isiah Freeman Saylor, Kalena Paige Danner, Liberty Faith Danner, Nick Danner, Contessa Cawood, Bethany Bailey, and George Bailey; ten great-grandchildren, and one yet to be born; as well as a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
Arrangements were handled by the Dewayne Walker Funeral Home in Hyden, where family received friends at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, and funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, with Steven Haddix officiating. Burial was at the Lewis-Creech Cemetery in Wooton. Paul bearers included Isaiah Saylor, Nick Danner, George Anthony Bailey, Bobby Day, Mike Day, Allen Rittenhouse, and Robert Turner.
