Dear Gail,

Tony always had a special place in our hearts and he always will. We loved his zest for life, his smile and his way with words. It always touched me when he'd say "... and my beautiful wife Gail." God, he loved you! He will always be alive in your memories and in your daily talks with him. No one can ever take that away from you. Remember that, Gail.

You have a tremendous amount of love from family and friends but no one can ever replace Tony, and that's the way it should be. He was very, very special to all of us.

Much Love,

Janet, Bob, Kevin & Kristen

My father and I knew him from church. He introduced himself to me as "Tony Macaroni." What a nice man! My dad misses seeing him in church so much.

I've been attempting to write something here for the last couple of weeks but have never found the right words to say! I know if Uncle Tony was here now he would tell me that's there's no right or wrong, so long as it comes from the heart it will be perfect, so here goes..

My Uncle Tony meant the world to me, i first met him when i was 7 years old and since the first day i saw him i have loved him immensely. He always made me smile just by looking at me with his twinkly eyes, he made me happy just by sitting next to me and most of all he made me love him just by being his beautiful self. He was always the perfect gentleman and was extremely kind and loving. If i can be half the person he was i'll be an extremely lucky lady.

They say that God only takes the best of the best to be his helpers and i have no doubt he is doing us all very proud up in Heaven.

Love You Always Uncle Tony,
"Little Maria" xxxxx

This is always hard for me to do as I want it to be a good remembrance of the Big Iti. So I have pinched others words and hope he knows that they come from the heart. This is called 'I Promise'

I promise to carry on your contagious smile that same one that would light up a room the minute you walked in.
I promise to laugh and never take myself too seriously, and I promise to love harder and forgive faster. I promise to be content in every sense of the word. To be thankful for the air in my lungs and for the time
we were blessed to have you here in our lives. I promise to try and have as big a heart as you did and to be selfless in any way I can. I promise to recognise to know what I have, and know what I can give to others who are not as fortunate. I promise I have grieved that abscence of your physical being for only a moment, and then now I promise to have set you free into an eternity of love we cannot imagine. I promise to never give up on others even when when I'm ready to give up on myself. I promise to be a friend and mentor just as you were. To be a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on or a set of ears to simply listen. I make these promises to you and Gail, forever in our hearts forever in our thoughts. Thank you for being a friend we will miss - never forgotten. God Bless you my man.

Auntie Gail,
It's so hard to sign this guest book, as I still don't believe Uncle Tony is gone from us. He was always "there" for me from as far back as I can remember:
1-Carrying me on his shoulders into the pantry so I could pull the light string on and off a thousand times.
2-Taking me to the movies by bus in downtown Hartford to see Pinocchio and Snow White.
3-Taking Lisa, Johnnie and me to the Fuller Brush Christmas parties to see Santa Claus and cartoons.
4-Telling us and our friends ghost stories and buying us lemon ice from the Good Humor truck late at night.
Wait a minute, these are all the things he liked to do. I'm glad I had the chance to show him a good time! ha!ha!
And then you came into the picture, and added a new dimension to his life-true love.
He would do anything for you.-Wash your hair, get your coffee, scratch your back (forever), drive you to work, chase Engelbert's limousine at high speed for Lisa and Jackie (at your command).
Uncle Tony always told me he didn't know what he would do if he didn't have you. Well, I guess we'll never know.
Auntie Gail, whatever are you going to do without him?
His baby,
Giacomina

Dear Gail, words cannot express how deeply affected we are by the loss of our dear friend Tony, he was a true friend but to us a dear family member, we will always remember the great happy times the four of us shared. Whenever we got together and sat around our kitchen table, we always had a great time eating, talking and singing (usally me and Tony singing, Gail directing and Dave listening). We loved our beloved friend Tony, we still can not believe that he departed us so soon. God had a better plan for him and needed him to help set the landscape for when we all get together again. We all can expect Tony to be waiting for us with open arms, in the meantime he will be greatly missed. Dear Gail,

Thank you for inviting me to share a remembrance of Tony. As we all do, I miss Tony very much. Whenever I saw him, his greetings were always personal and exuberant. That always made me feel happy and welcomed. Tony loved life and his family to the fullest, and he encouraged me and others, too, to do so likewise. Let's all try to carry on Tony's example in our own daily lives.

March 9, 2011

Tony brightened our days in all kinds of wonderful, magical ways. His thoughtfulness came as a gift from above. I still feel as if we are still surrounded by his warm, caring love. His beautiful smile brought happiness in the hearts of others. Tony knew how to bring laughter and fun in good times and in bad times. Friends are like angels, without any wings.Blessing our lives, with the most precious things. Gail remember that Tony is now your angel, he will always be there for you to comfort you and bring you peace. Love Monique & Don Levesque

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy. May you take comfort in knowing an angel is watching over you Gail and that friends are all around you. Words seem inadequate to express how we feel. Dear Tony is gone from our sight, but never our memories. Gone from our touch, but never our hearts. May memories comfort you and bring you peace. All our love, Zoe, Joe, Matt Belliveau and Ellen Brodeur

Tony was a very special man. He had a terrific sense of humor and a heart- warming smile. We especially remember when we moved to Connecticut from Kansas and were pleased, Gail, to embrace yours and Tony's warmth and friendliness as you helped us in our search for housing. May God's presence and love fill the void in your heart.

Auntie Gail, I have such fond memories of Uncle Tony. I remember when my mom, dad and my sister Annie and I were in New York City at the ship harbor waiting for Uncle Tony to arrive from Italy. I remember it was such a beautiful, but hot day and I was so excited to meet him and give him a big hug. We shared many years together and he will always be my special uncle. I remember when Uncle Tony and I took a train to Georgia and then onto Florida to visit Auntie Mira. That was truly an adventure. Another time we were in a restaurant and Uncle Tony asked the waitress for a BTL and I told the waitress that he really meant BLT. We laughed about that and he was always a joy to be around.

I hope and pray that your grieving heart will be at peace. I know it takes time, but our Lord will be with you and help you through this. He has also given you family to support you and don't ever forget that Gene and I are always here for you!!!

Aunt Gail, I'm not good with words but I found a poem that says it all.
love,

Mariella, Peter, Joe, Bella and Jayon

I Heard The Angel Say

I thought I saw your face today,
in the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say,
"Their work on earth is done."

I thought I heard your voice today,
then laugh your hearty laugh.
And then I heard the angel say,
"There's peace dear one at last."

I thought I felt your touch today,
in the breeze that rustled by.
And then I heard the angel say,
"The spirit never dies."

I thought I saw my broken heart,
in the crescent of the moon.
And then I heard the angel say,
"The Lord is coming soon."

I thought that you had left me,
for the stars so far above.
And then I heard the angel say,
"They left you with their love."

Gail,
Words cannot describe our feeling for you and Tony. Moving away from Hartford over 40 years ago seems like yesterday. Our regular phone calls , our video chats, , our visits back to Connecticut and your home always being open to us has made our family ties even closer over the years. I can see Tony in my mind so clearly as he and I sat and talked, while you and Donna were shopping in the quaint little shops of Carmel. He told me how much he loved his life with you. He was a very special person that everyone loved. He was sent to us from God to touch our lives with love and laughter and now he returns to God to sing and laugh with the angels. Tony will always be with us in spirit. We know that he is at peace and is looking down on us and telling us to continue to live life to the fullest with family and friends the same way that he did !

Gail, what a hard tribute to write in a few short words. Tony was a great man, a great husband and he always brightened my day with a few short words, a quick wave or his beautiful smile. Tony is a man you can never forget and I enjoy talking to you about him.

Auntie Gail,

I have such fond memories of Uncle Tony. He was and will always be my Mentor. He taught me how to love, respect and forgive. I remember him when he first came to America and I was only 4-years old and knew then that he was very special and felt such a love for him. He was a father image to me growing up. He was so loved by everyone that knew him and yet, he never met a stranger that he didn't talk to and sometimes that stranger became his friend. I never heard an unkind word about my Uncle. I will always remember that he was such a TROOPER, as he would always listen to my jokes and laugh. Now who else would listen, right? When Uncle Tony lived with us, I remember how I taught him how to play baseball in Colts Park, across the street from our house. So many memories to share.

Auntie Gail, Uncle Tony will always be loved and missed throughout our lives. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers. We love you and know that we are here for you to help you through these difficult times. Lean on your family and friends, because we care!!

I remember all the good times we had with Tony-the trip to NYC and the Italian Festival & Disco Donuts, the way he liked to laugh and who could ever forget his whistling! It was the little things in life that made him happy, but he especially loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Love, Carlo

I will always have such wonderful memories of Uncle Tony. He always had a sparkle in his eyes. I always looked forward to his phone calls in the morning just to say hello and remind me to live everyday as if it were my last. Good advice.
Uncle Tony was taken from us so fast. Auntie Gail, I am so grateful to have spent eight days with you taking care of him in the hospital. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. You would not leave his bedside, encouraging him to get better everyday. You are still the love of his life. He is watching over you from heaven, counting on family and friends to get you through this difficult time.
I will always remember the last time we saw the sparkle in his eyes. He was looking at you!
Uncle Tony will always live in our hearts.
Goodnight Sunshine.

My brother-in-law Tony had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever known. Whenever anyone came over to the house the first thing he did was sit them down and put something to drink in their hands and something to eat in front of them. He made EVERYONE-workers that would come to the house to fix something, waiters and waitresses, you name it, feel like he had known you for YEARS! In fact, it was a running joke that Tony would be SO friendly to EVERY waiter or waitress that waited on us that Gail would be forced to give them a big tip after our meal, and no matter how many times she would tell him to stop being so friendly, he never listened! Tony loved his family, his friends, and most of all, his beloved Gail SO much. He loved life and would always say that he was going to live to be 100 years old, and he said it with such conviction that I completely believed he WOULD! But it's not the QUANTITY of life that matters, it's the QUALITY, and Tony squeezed every ounce of vitality, love and passion for life out of the 76 years that he was on this earth. Life just isn't the same without him.

Auntie Gail, I can not say it all because, I would never finish, from the first time Michael brought me over and the rings fit. It was love at first sight and you and Uncle Tony took me in as one of your own and I knew then I loved you all. Since then I have really grown to love you guy's, and Uncle Tony taught me how to greet people with a double cheek kiss, and I will never, forget it nor him I LOVE YOU.And after seeing the vacations you all spent together and the love you all shared I know he was a one of a kind ,they broke the mold after him. He would not want you to be sad, I know it's hard. YOU CAN DO IT, with GOD's help. That was one sharp young man.

Dear Auntie Gail, our deepest sorrow on the loss of our dear and beloved Uncle Tony. The Bible assures us that our Heavenly Father is "near to those that are broken at heart, and those crushed in spirit he saves". May your memories bring you a measure of comfort at this time! We will always cherish the times we were around Uncle Tony with his full of energy, personality, and smile, and for all the times that he was there for us and the kids. He always made us laugh and we loved hearing his clapping and his voice calling all the squirrels and birds early in the morning to feed them. We miss his smile, voice and his whistle across the yard. Uncle Tony will never be forgotten!

With Love, Fatima and family

Dearest cousin Gail,

As life goes on, Tony will ALWAYS be remembered. It is comforting though, that during this time in your life, you have so many family members and friends that you can lean on. Lean on your family and friends when needed. A cherished gift God has given us is our willingness and ability to have those we love lean on us during times of sorrow. Those who love you wish to share this gift with you.

May God bless you this day and forever,

Love, Kevin and Lillian

Dear Gail,
Our deepest sympathy for the loss of Tony, your wonderful and loving husband. I might say that we all lost such a good friend.

As I have told you many times, you two are the nicest couple I ever knew since I came to America. For all the years of knowing Tony and spending time with him, I have learned from him his way of living a happy life. He put his trust and faith in God. He was a man who freed his heart from hate, freed his mind from worry, and lived a simple life. He gave more and expected less. Thanks for being a true friend and for loving everyone of us for who we are. Thanks for all the memories of our good times ... you will always be in our hearts. Tony, we SALUTE you!

Gail, may the memories of the good times that Tony left us bring peace to your heart. I say to you: "Obladi-oblada" ... and God bless.

With Love & Care,

Dear Gail,
I sit here without words. I look at his picture and the only thing that comes to me is a smile. You and Tony have been a part of my life for what seems my entire life. I am so very sad for you. Tony adored, loved, and cherished you. You are so fortunate to have experienced that love, but you also deserved it. You made Tony the person he was because you brought out the best in him, and in turn he gave his undying love. It will never die. With love, Anna

Dear Gail, We are all blessed that Tony touched our lives.
He taught us how to laugh; we loved his singing and felt his warm welcome whenever we were together. His compassion and caring were a great gift to many. Gail, I
feel when you talk to him, I am sure you have felt these words to say: If you but knew how all my days are filled with you and even in the silent night your eyes look through to me with their tender light. If you but knew how often I hear your voice when others speak and how in
a crowd, yours is the face I seek.

Gail, You and Tony were blessed by God as he chose Tony's time on earth for you to spend it with each other.

I feel my Uncle Tony's presence in my home many times and he tells me he is ok. He is at peace with no more sickness and pain and he is with our Lord and happy. Everyday, I think of him and pray for his soul and talk to him. I still can't believe he is gone. It's such a heartache that I still can't describe. He was and will always be my favorite Uncle. He helped raise me, along with my other siblings. He was such a wonderful role model in our lives growing up. He was always there for us. He was my protector. I can't say enough about my precious Uncle Tony. I only hope and pray that Auntie Gail's pain will go away. I know she only has the memories of him, and hope it brings a smile to her face when she thinks of him. I sometimes called Uncle Tony to chat with him and he would tell me how much he loved Auntie Gail. He is now at peace, Auntie Gail. Our Lord is with him everyday in the heavens. I always think of the memories we shared together. He will always be with us.

This candle s a symbol of eternal life in memory of my Uncle Tony.
