Anwar Andrew Shah, M.D.

Dr. Shah operated on my eye after an accident in 1964 (in St. Louis) when I was 9 years old. That was almost 53 years ago, and I can still recall how soft-spoken and kind and caring he was, and how he helped calm my fear. He did a brilliant job saving what was left of the sight in my damaged eye. To this day, I am grateful for his skill and compassion. My condolences to his family and friends.

Thank you for opening your home and heart to me. I appreciate your kindness in flying me across country to spend a week with your family, for taking me to my first opera, and for educating me in investing. You were loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Dr. Shah was a very respected and accomplished doctor, and a mentor for so many. He will always be remembered by his family and the community he served. May God bless this soul.

Deepest sympathies to the family. Dr. Shah was a good friend of my father - Hubert Ritter. Dad always spoke of him with great fondness and respect.

Dr. Shah saved the eyesight in my right eye at the age of six in 1964 in a six-hour surgery that long preceded the advent of laser to repair detached retinas.I saw him frequently for many years so he --- and always a group of doctors in training could sketch pictures of my repaired retina. This would sometimes take an hour or more, and was sometimes painful, but I endured it because I was helping others to become as good a doctor as Anwar Shah. What a kind and accomplished man -- and the best doctor I've ever had!

I knew him many years ago, working with him with the Lions Club. He personally helped me by using laser treatments to help my mother in law for free.

Dr. Shah, you were a beautiful, kindhearted person, inside and out. Your God given expertise allowed my Mother to see her Grandchildren and enjoy creating oil paintings, and live life as best she could. I will be forever greatfull to you and Drs. Pernoud. God's blessings to you and family.

It was my honor to know you, Dr. Shah. Thank you so much for teaching me about the stock market and giving me advices. Those learning time with you and Joan were so special. Rest in Peace Dr. Shah, you will be missed.

Dr Shah was a great friend, and a wonderful kind hearted unique person. I can never forget how he shaped my life after graduation. I will always be indebted to him for all that he did. I have many fond memories of my association with him, his love for my kids and my parents too is something I will always cherish.

Dr. Shah was my mentor and my friend for over 30 years. There will always be a special place in my heart for him and memories of him will stay with me always. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. God bless you in this time of sorrow.
