Arthur Fish

LEEDS -- Arthur Fish, 70, died on Friday afternoon, Sept. 30, 2005, at his home on Sedgley Road in Leeds, surrounded by his family, following a short illness.

He was born on April 7, 1935, in Lewiston, the son of Wallace A. and Mary (Rose) Fish.

Arthur was a 1953 graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner. On June 23, 1956, he married Connie Stevens of Auburn; they made their home and raised their family on the Fish Farm in Leeds, where Arthur worked as a farmer, working his last day on Aug. 18, 2005. He also had worked for a short time driving trucks for B&A Trucking, and for several years he was a bus driver for School Administrative District 52. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and loved going to his camp in the north woods of Langtown.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Connie of Leeds; three sons, Stephen Fish and his wife, Lori, of North Turner, Wallace Fish and his wife, Wanda, of Leeds, and Stanley Fish and his companion, Karen Meader, of Leeds; a daughter, Lorraine Fish and her companion, Wendell Wright, of Leeds; three sisters, Laurel Gagne of Turner, Beatrice Morse and her husband, Laurance, of Livermore Falls, and Carol Harris and her husband, Dwight, of Greene; and four grandchildren, Christine, Nicole, Mikayla and Dylan Fish. He was predeceased by his parents and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Fish.

Visiting hours are 5-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Bragdon-Finley Funeral Home, 707 Main St., Monmouth. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the funeral home. Interment will occur in Fish Cemetery, Leeds.
