Arthur E. Lloyd III

Army Veteran, Bank V.P. & Appraiser, Longtime Union Resident

Arthur E. Lloyd, III passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the age of 92. Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Madison before moving to Union over 60 years ago.

Arthur graduated from Bucknell University in 1953 where he met the love of his life, Dorothy Harvey Lloyd and then served his country in the US Army for two years during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Army, Arthur started a long career in real estate appraisal and was employed with New Brunswick Saving Bank for many years before retiring as Vice President and Head Real Estate Appraiser.

He was a longtime member of the Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church and lifelong Giants fan.

He was also a lifelong antique car aficionado and spent many years collecting, restoring, and showing antique cars. He was also an accomplished craftsman and enjoyed building dollhouses with his wife, Dorothy.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur E. Lloyd, Jr. and Helen Marino Lloyd; and his sister Audrey Powers.

Surviving are his son Thomas A. Lloyd and daughter, Virginia A. Lloyd. Dorothy passed away in 2003.

Visitation will be at Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield, on Sunday, March 26th from 2-5. Services will be held at the Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church, 888 Stuyvesant Ave., Union on Monday, March 27th at 11 AM. Interment with military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
