Aubrey Rowe Ponce Jr. was born July 27, 1941, to Aubrey Ponce Sr. and Alma Ponce in Waycross, Georgia. On March 21, 2022, peacefully, at his home in Jacksonville, Florida he was reunited with his Heavenly Father. He was raised in a Church of the Nazarene home and gave his life to Christ in his early years. He and his family had the privilege of living in various places, Alaska, Yukon Canada, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. During his college years he attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, Tennessee. Aubrey started his career with Eastern Airlines. Years later he took a position with Delta Airlines, where he retired after 23 years.
Aubrey is predeceased in death by his parents, Aubrey and Alma Ponce and Survived by his beloved wife, Ruby Ponce. Younger siblings Christine Page (Patrick), Preston Ponce (Mary), Jim Ponce (Pam), Bethlea Ponce. Aubrey and Ruby were married 42 years, their anniversary was celebrated on his last day of life. Their marriage included a blended family. Children, Shanda Couch (Sam), Keith Ponce, Dee Bivacca (Don), Kathy Phoebus, Curtis Moore (Brenda), Chris Moore, and Craig Moore (Mia). Grandchildren, Megan Lauer (Michael), Meriah Couch, Macy Storen (Matthew), Noah Couch, Kelsey Bivacca, Lauren Bivacca, Darci Peistrup (Travis), Dawn Frank (Casey), Brandon Garner, Jimmy Moore, Zachary Moore (Corina), and Colin Moore. Six great-grandchildren and many loved family members and friends. While living in Newberry, Florida the past seven years, Aubrey and Ruby grew to know and love three brothers Jaylon, Christian, and Camden. This past year Aubrey and Ruby made the move back to Jacksonville to spend more time with family.
We are rejoicing in Aubrey's homecoming with his Lord and Savior. Service to be held at Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene, March 25, 2022, at 11AM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257 or give online to support.communityhospice.com

Aubrey was a roommate of mine at Trevecca and I consider him a good friend. We work together, planting trees and storking furnaces in the early mornings. We would pull our money and buy food after we got paid. I wish I had gotten in contact with him years ago. He was a fine person.

I just saw Aubrey´s obituary tonight. I am so sorry. Aubrey was the sweetest nicest person that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. All of us at Camp Lejeune Satotravel were blessed to be able to work with him every day. Please accept my condolences.
