Audrey Hogan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29, 2023.
Carmel - When the sun sets casting its warmest golden glow, followed by the stillness of the calmest shade of blue, it's precisely in those moments that we still feel your love, your presence. That our hearts and souls are still connected through only but a thin veil.

On November 22, 2022, Audrey Lea Hogan, our greatest teacher, peacefully passed into the next realm while surrounded by the unsurmountable love of her family.

Audrey was born on October 14, 1963, in Chicago Heights, Illinois to her mother Sharon (Swanson) Myers and her father Richard Myers. As first born and the eldest of three, Aud was a loving sister to Stacy (Myers) Wroblewski and her brother Rich Myers. More than just a sister, throughout Aud's life she took much pride in being the eldest and looking out for her younger siblings, Stacy, and Rich. Even at a young age, her warm, kind, and motherly heart has always shined bright and shined fierce.

Aud subsequently married in her twenties to her former spouse Donald Hogan and gave birth to four beautiful children in total. Alexa (Lex), Donald (Donnie), Nicole (Nikki), Patrick (Paddy). "All her babies" as she would refer to them. In the summer of 1995, the family relocated from Chicago, Illinois to Carmel, Indiana to raise their children. She worked throughout the years as an assistant with different companies, but her true passion lay in helping others.

As she grew into her years, Aud began to seek out the answers to her own life. She sought out an understanding as to what makes a person who they are and how they got there. What exactly made Aud, Aud. Not recognized at the time but this would ultimately become her greatest journey and accomplishment during her earthly life and the most beautiful part about her. Aud poured her heart and her soul into studying and understanding childhood trauma and its effect on adulthood. Through her certification in Life Coaching, she made it her mission to help and guide others through their internal struggles so that they too were able to live their happiest life as their true selves.

Later in life, Aud loved spending her time with her Fiancé, Dave Gorman, her furry companion, Frankie, her grandchildren, Isla and Winter, and her children. She had no problem trading a night out for a night at home watching one of her favorite movies which usually consisted of The Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, Practical Magic, or Meet Joe Black. She loved coffee, music, fashion, history, spirituality and looking her best. You could easily find Aud either scrolling through the latest fashion blog or in deep research of the supernatural. In true queen form, she was unique and brilliant with many amazing layers.

Aud was a mother, a fiancé, a grandmother, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. While all these to be true, she was more than just titles. She was brave and she was courageous. She was resilient and she was a warrior. True strength beyond measure, Aud was beautifully unique and unconventional, always marching to the beat of her own drum. Most importantly, she had a heart of gold and was the kindest and the most loving person you'd ever meet. She loved everybody and everybody loved her. She had more compassion, empathy and understanding than 100 men combined. She was a teacher and a guide to many. She taught us life can often be messy. It can leave you feeling lost and broken. But when the storm of life has ripped you to pieces, only you get to decide how to put yourself back together again. That there was no negative without a positive, she taught us hope. She taught us authenticity and sincerity. She showed us that compassion and love for others was the key to compassion and love for ourselves. This was Audrey, she was absolutely magnificent and extraordinary. She was beautiful not only on the outside but even more so on the inside. She loved deeply and she loved hard. Above all, her greatest love and joy will always be her family. The immensity of her love for her children and grandchildren will be forever palpable. Although her absence in our lives is monumental and she is missed so dearly, she lives on through those who have been lucky enough know and love her. She has been a gift to our lives.

May the light of your love and wisdom continue to guide us even on the darkest of nights. We love you, Mom.

Lex, Donnie, Nikki, Paddy
