Barry Imsland

Conde - Barry Imsland, 60, lifelong resident of the Crandall, Conde area died Sunday, March 16, 2003, near Sisseton, S.D. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Conde with Pastor Grant Piehl officiating. Burial will be in the Crandall Union Cemetery. Arne Funeral Home of Clark is in charge of arrangements. Barry Ward Imsland was born March 30, 1942, in Bradley, SD to Edward and Hazel (Barrie) Imsland. He attended grade school in Crandall and graduated from Conde High School in 1960. Barry married Janette Herman December 6, 1963, in Conde. They made their home in Crandall following their marriage. He farmed at Oak Gulch Ranch raising cattle, sheep and most recently elk. He sheered sheep and also worked for the South Dakota Wheat Growers during the spring season. Barry was a kind, good hearted person who loved hunting, trapping, playing cards and sports of all kinds, especially bowling. He would also umpire at games for the summer recreation program in Conde. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs. Barry was involved in Clark County 4-H and served as clerk of the Oak Gulch Township for many years. He was also a member of the S.D. Elk Breeders Association. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Janette of Conde, his three daughters and two sons-in-law Audrey Imsland of Watertown; Tonya and Bernie Jark of Stratford; Marsha and Patrick Murphy of Conde; six grandchildren Christopher, Collin & Holli Jark, Chelsea, Jared & Nathan Murphy, his two sisters and their husbands Jeannine and Jerry Wright of Aiken, SC; and Sharry and Gary Schneider of Turton. Barry was preceded in death by his parents. Active Pallbearers will be Arvon Taylor, Stanley Schulz, Ron Sundvold, Harlan Sundvold, Dwight Lyren, Bob Leidholdt, Richard Anderson and Ronald Lyren. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Barry's many friends.
