I remember the first day I saw Ben at the main office of the English School I worked for in Japan. He was so professionally dressed I assumed he was some sort of higher up checking in on the rest of us. He moved into the apartment building across from mine and we became quick friends. After work he would come over and we'd play Super Nintendo, or we'd just go on a walk or bicycle ride and just talk and hang out. Very funny guy, and the life of any party, especially at Karaoke. He was so generous and happy to just spend time with people.
I look back on those times as some of the richest of my life, in no small part thanks to Ben. It was great to explore Japan together with him.
We reconnected in the last year when he was in the area while managing a CVS store local to me. I was thrilled to be able to catch up, reminisce, and hang out. It was just a few months ago..
I was thinking about him earlier today, that we were due to hang out again and play some games, and then I just heard about his passing this evening.... I can't believe he's gone..
So thankful to know him again recently..
You won't be forgotten Ben. Miss you already, Buddy.

Condolences on your loss.
Ben was my roommate, coworker and friend here in Japan. We will always treasure the memories of our time spent with you. Specially that new years you spent in Tajimi, and our trip to Hiroshima were we (Ben mostly) sung "Country Roads" at every town or city we stopped.
You were always ready to cheer people up. At these time when we are all grieving your loss, you'd probably say: "It is what it is Jon".
Rest In Peace Ben

When Ben and I would travel place to place for the vaccines we talked about everything. Everytime we talked about our families I would see his face light up talking about his family, girlfriend and her children. Ben was funny, intelligent, made people feel comfortable. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Prayers for the family Rest In Peace Ben!

Ben was a thoughtful and jovial person. He had a way of making you feel at ease and included. He could hold a conversation with anyone no matter the topic.
He was constantly making us laugh, whether it be stories, accents, impersonations, or "Dad" jokes. You could always count on him to be there, unless it was knowing how to change a tire. He would always offer to help anyway he could. He will be greatly missed and remembered. My thoughts are with the rest of his friends and family!

Ben was always such a fun guy to be around! He could talk to anyone and make them feel like he had known them forever. He was so considerate of others and didn't hesitate to help those he knew. He always offered to get sushi if he was planning on stopping by or a coffee drink from Sheetz. He was always sharing "Dad jokes" with everyone that made you laugh. His Paula Dean Buttercake was to die for and we always asked him to bring some for work functions and he would oblige. He was such a great friend and he will be missed tremendously!

I knew you as a classmate, then as a roommate, and then as a coworker on the other side of the world. Most of all, you were a great friend. You were also better than me in Street Fighter. Rest In Peace my friend.
