Betty Ruth Hartley

Betty Ruth Hartley, 87, was born July 22, 1927 in Midwest, Wyoming. to Henry John and Pearl Estelle Bunning. She was raised in the Kaycee, Wyoming area until moving to Tacoma, Washington during her high school years while her father served in the Aleutians during WWI. She met her husband, William Gene Hartley, while he was in the Navy, and they married on June 11, 1946. Following WWII, they moved to Kaycee, Wyoming until 1964, then moved to Fair Oaks, California, for a year before moving back to Sheridan, Wyoming where they resided until moving to Arizona in 1972.

Betty had several interests including bowling. She belonged to several leagues where she continued to bowl until her late 70s. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially when it involved eating out or celebrating anything.

Survivors include 4 children, Richard (Sharon) Hartley, Diane (Jim) Slickers, Jeff (Pat) Hartley, and Shelley Hartley. She also had 10 grandchildren, Brett (Beth) Slickers, James Slickers, and Heather Slickers, Sarah (Mike) Schuyler, Joshua Hartley, Amanda and Robert Hartley, and Eric, Justin, and Savannah Penick, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2004, and her son, Steven, in 1996.
