Billy Juanita WOODRUFF Born January 22, 1909 in Asher, OK, Juanita lived a joyful 96 years, touching many lives along the way. Growing up, she became an accomplished musician, playing the piano and violin and singing in a ladies' trio. She played women's basketball, putting on half-time exhibitions by shooting baskets from center court. She also finished a two-year business course in three months and wrote consumer advertising for a wholesale grocery distributor in Clinton, OK. She married Peris Gilmore Woodruff, a young preacher from New Mexico on February 18, 1936. For more than 40 years, they ministered together in churches in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Oregon and Washington State She was an avid supporter of Women's Mission Union, now called Baptist Women. Juanita was full of vim and vitality as evidenced by a bumper sticker that said, "Subject to bursts of enthusiasm," which she put on her car when she was in her late-80s. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember her for teaching them the ins and outs of Uno, Skipbo, Old Maids and the domino game, 42. She went to be with her Heavenly Father, and her husband, Peris, and her daugher, Beverly Bob Helen Woodruff Ellis, on Thursday, August 18, 2005. She is survived by her son, Kip Edwin Woodruff and his wife, Louise; her nephew, Rayond Edwin Woodruff and his wife, Debbra; grandchildren, Allison Allegra Ellis Baker and her husband, Ben; Nathan Woodruff Ellis and his wife, Marina; Allen Argyle Woodruff, Mary Kate Woodruff, and Molly Helen Woodruff; and great-grandchildren, Alger Ben Baker, III, William Alexander Baker, Sage William Ellis and Eden Francesca Ellis. Services to be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 2, 2005, at King's Garden Chapel, Crista Senior Community, 19319 King's Garden Dr. N, Shoreline, Seattle, WA.
