Brian NAGY Obituary

Brian Ambrose Nagy
February 4, 1956 – March 24, 2017
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a dear dad, granddad, brother, uncle and friend. Brian passed away suddenly at home on Friday, March 24. He was predeceased by his parents John and Theresa Nagy, his sister Diane Dalio and brothers Ray and John. He is survived by his children Kelly (Jason); Lee (Christine); Dallas; Santanna, and Creedance; and his grandchildren Drake, Cullen, Lexis, Alora, Tyden, Cassius and Isaac. He is also survived by his brothers Jim, Eric and Jerry as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Brian grew up on the family farm near Quinton. Life consisted of chores and play. He grew up with 6 brothers and one sister. His fond memories of childhood included family gatherings after church on Sundays. His mom, Theresa, came from a family of 14 siblings and he and his many cousins were very close. He took his elementary schooling in Quinton under the strict tutelage of the nuns and went to high school in Punnichy. He and his brothers loved to play sports competitively. They played ball in the summer and Brian had a terrific throwing arm. Winter was for hockey. Brian played goal and often joked about the burn he got on the back of his neck from the red goal light. He loved playing against the Golden Hawks and had great admiration for the skills of Eddie Bitternose, Joey Desjarlais and Charlie Cyr. Brian later traded skates for bowling shoes. His first job as a teen was with the CN. He moved to Regina where he met his first wife Debra Bachiu. They had two children together, Kelly Marie and Lee Michael. Later, he returned to the Punnichy area and began his concrete business. In 1988 he married Sylvia McNab. They raised three children Santanna, Dallas and Creedance. He loved all his children and grandchildren and was very proud of them. He loved kids and they loved him. He had a great sense of fun and could be such a clown. He had an incredible wit. He worked hard at the concrete business. He was skilled in many areas of construction which he put to good use building his house on the acreage. He loved hospitality as he saw lived out around the farm house table: "Pull up a chair, there's always room for one more." He was a good neighbour and always did what he could to help when needed. His kindness and generosity will be greatly missed by all his family and his many friends. Brian's faith sustained him in later years. He will be sadly missed but forever in our hearts. "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day." John 6:40 NIV. Funeral Service will be held in the town hall of Punnichy, SK. On Saturday April 1, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Punnichy cemetery, Rev. Glen Povey officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Conley Funeral Home, Raymore and Fort Qu'Appelle, SK.
