Dad,
I still hear your wonderful voice when everything else is quiet around me. I am proud to be your son; comforted by the lessons you provided and the example you set; so sorry for the times I pushed you away; and miss you more than I ever imagined. Rest in peace knowing that you made a difference...

Thinking of you, Mr. Dore, and your family at this sad time. I graduated from John XXIII in 1971 and through the years, would see you on the West Island. Perhaps we will meet again in the "West Island" in the sky! You were a fabulous person who always remembered my name and the names of my brothers and sister. Rest in peace.

As we pass through time and we meet many people along our way; so few of them leave an impression as indelible and memorable as Mr. Bruce Dore.
You have touched many lives and continue to do so. It has been an honour to have known you.
We live on through the memories we give to others, you will always be remembered.
My sincere condolences to the Dore families.

Every time I play golf, I think of Bruce. Playing in tournaments with him was a scream: on the first tee, invariably in front of a large gathering of players, he would proclaim that you had to be able to drive with dignity. That meant that you were given the opportunity to redeem yourself if your first drive was a complete disaster. "Tee off again." he would say, and (hopefully) you would drive with dignity this time and were now able to walk off the first tee with your head held high, a swagger in your step. And that's what Bruce was all about: modest with a great sense of humour, there to make others feel good about themselves.
My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends who, I know, will miss him terribly, with a special hello to Paul.
Sincerely,
Ken Chevrier

Mr. Dore will be missed. Whenever I think back to PCHS days Bruce is right there. The way he walked the hallways, always made time to speak to the students. Always made sure we were on our way to class and not from class :-). Bruce never had a negative word to say. He was "up" and "positive" and in turn so were the students around him. I am glad to say Bruce was in my life.

What can I say about Bruce Dore!!
From the moment I heard his voice, down the hallway at JohnXXIII, I knew we had someone in command. Bruce was one of the many reasons why I loved going to class, besides I had no choice, he picked me up every morning!! His laughter, his perseverance, his ability to maintain the highest standards for all this students, made Bruce one of my favourite influencial people.
I had the best at JohnXXIII and you will be always in my thoughts.
Thank You Bruce Dore
My sympathies to the Dore family

Although I did not know Bruce very well, I did know him to be very kind to me when I met him, funny and I always had great conversation with him. It is a great loss and my sympathy to all his family. He will be missed. God Bless.

My sincere sympathy to the Dore family. I too was a student at John XXIII back in the late 70's. Of all the things I remember the most about Bruce Dore it was his fairness and his love and respect to those he taught, worked with and supervised. I graduated in /81, thanks to some advice he once gave me. It was because of what he said that decided me to live my life the right way, the only way and to achieve something I had never done before. He was a mentor to many of the students and colleages. I will miss you, Mr. Dore. You are gone now, but I promise, you will never be forgotten. God bless!

Bruce was truly a unique man who continued to be viewed as our leader and principal long after our school years.
As we get older we remember those who made an impact in our lives. Bruce was one of them. A tough and fair man whose humour survived along with him. He corrected us all through life with a favourite being that he was our 'former', not 'old' principal.
Sympathy to the family. A truly awesome man who never forgot his extended school family.

My friend Bruce, you always had a distinct air of class and dignity. You may have been same in stature but you stood a head above the crowd. The journey you have embarked on is one that we will all take, therefore this is a brief goodbye until we meet again. Sleep well my Friend, sleep well!

My condolences to the entire Dore family. I would see Bruce on the rarest of occasions over the years and they go back to the Camp Kinkora days. Although small in stature, he was a giant among his peers. I will pray for Bruce this evening as he goes to his just reward.

We, the family down the street from the Dore's on Metis st. remember Bruce fondly. He always talked with us as more a friend than a teacher (or parent) even though we were the same age as his children. I guess that's how he saw all his friends... as family!
We'll miss your humor and tremendous but easy-going spirit Bruce. Condolences to the Dore family from ours.

Bruce Dore was a vice-principal at JXXIII, but he was also my first boss. I worked in his office at the school as a junior secretary. Mr. Dore was certainly strict, but he also had a terrific sense of humour. After I graduated, he wrote me a beautiful letter of recommendation and I got the first job I applied for! My sincere condolences to the Dore Family.

My condolences to his family and all who knew him. He made JXIII what it was – a fantastic institution. He was respected by his staff and students. When reflecting back to high school days, I immediately think of Mr. Dore. He was powerful and a very positive influence for so many of us. I had the pleasure of running into him a few years ago while visiting family in Dorval and it was so wonderful to have a moment to reflect on the JXIII school days. He sure will be missed!

Dear Eleanor and Famly,
What a privilege to have known Bruce and to have taught with him(in the early sixties). Bruce was such a very talented educator both in the classroom and as an Administrtaor. He was a wonderful colleague and friend; good humoured, insightful; creative; always supportive. He was a person of real integrity. His presence will contnue to be felt by the innumerable persons he touched so deeply.
Jeannine joins me in sending love and prayerful concern for you all.

My sympathies to you all on the loss of your dad, and I just wanted you to know I will always remember your dad as a great man who was always sweet to me and someone whom I looked forward to seeing from day to day as a child. He always made me feel good and made me feel like he was happy to see me, and for a kid that was a big deal! Even though I have not seen your dad in years, I am sadden by the fact that I know he is gone.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
