In memory of
Kathy Haug
October 22, 2009
Sister Carol Anne often visited the Lafayette Library to do her research. I only met her a couple of times (I was Library Assistant there), but was struck by her cheerfulness. Years later, I heard her speak about A Friendly Place, and how it came about. Her books are lovely, the mystery element is good, and the descriptions of localities are accurate -- one really can "see" the areas she describes. I and many others will miss her charming books and generous spirit. Kathy Haug (San Pablo, CA)

I am very sorry to hear of the death of a wonderful person, and a gifted author. I love all her books. I wasn;t lucky enough to meet her in person, but her spirit carries through in her writing.

As a graduate of the class of 1960 from Santa Clara Grammer school in Oxnard, I remember Sister Carol Anne as a vivacious, caring and accomplished teacher. May she rest in peace.

I met Sister when I was a student at Carondelet High in Concord. she stepped in to teach or take over religion classes from the principle and enjoyed her. She always had a story to tell us and a smile that willnever be forgotten. Rest in peace and we will continue reading your books.

I fondly remember Sister Carol Anne as my 8th grade teacher (class of '61) at Santa Clara Elementary School, Oxnard California. She was the 8th grade boy's teacher. Sister Mary Helen was the girl's teacher and the school principal. I loved the Sister Mary Helen mysteries. I enjoyed a couple of visits with Sister Carol Anne over the last 40 years. She was a great teacher.

I was first introduced to Sister
Carol Anne O'Marie through her books. Later got to know her as St.Paul's Lutheran Church did mystery dinners to help support a Friendly Place. She had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. The whole community will be a little less bright in the wake of her absence. She will be greatly missed.
