CAROLINE M. (MATTEI)
Age 75, peacefully, with her family by her side, on Friday, July 27, 2012, of Baldwin Boro. Born September 27, 1936, she was one of the ABC Triplets of Whitehall. Beloved wife of 52 years to Joseph A. Persichetti, Jr.; loving mother of Mary M. (Wayne) Haffner and Joseph A., III (Carla); grandmother of Jennifer, Joseph, and Vincent; also survived by triplet brother Amidio (Bridget) Mattei, Jr., triplet sister Beatrice (Ray) Loreti; sister Ellen (Tony) Vetere; stepbrothers Paul and Fred D'Angelo; stepsister Debra Strittmater; one aunt; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by parents Emidio and Mary Mattei; stepfather, Fred D'Angelo; brother, Domenic Mattei; and nephew Quinto Loreti. Caroline graduated from Baldwin High School and Borroughs Bus. School. She worked for Greyhound Bus and then Baldwin Whitehall School District as an elementary playground aid and secretary for more than 27 years. She embraced life, loved her family and friends, enjoyed dancing and sports, and was a member of the Baldwin Athletic Booster Association. Sincere thanks to the caretakers of Southwestern Nursing Facility, Vitas Hospice, Ridgepointe Assisted Living Home and Celtic Hospice. Friends will be received at JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood 15227, on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Prayer on Wednesday morning at 9:15. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin Church, 5200 Greenridge Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15236. Please send condolences to:

To the family of Mrs. Persichetti; I just learned of her passing and want to extend my deepest sympathy to you all. My memories of her start with her serving as our playground "Mom" at Sickman School through many years of Baldwin football and basketball. She truly was a special lady and full of Baldwin Pride. She will be missed!!

To the Persichetti family,
I am very sorry for your loss. It seems like yesterday that we were on the playground at Sickman Elementary School playing football and softball with Mrs. P and then seeing her at the little league fields when we played for South Baldwin. Those are some great memories that I will always cherish. She was an outstanding person and a friend to everybody in our community.

Joe and family,
I was so heartbroken to hear of Mrs. P's passing, I have kept tabs on how she was doing over the years. You never forget one of your favorite people. She made my high school years in the Library with all the girls so fun and happy. Your family is in my prayers and I hope as the days go by you always remember what a wonderful lady she was and how much joy she brought to everyone's lives that she touched!
God saw she was getting tired and a recovery was just not meant to be, so God took her hand and said to her " It's time to come Home with Me"
She is home now and is everyone's angel looking down and speading her joy to everyone!

To Our Dearest Sister Caroline,
You were always so loving, kind and full of fun. Such a beautiful person, not just on the outside, but within. Always thinking of others and making everyone happy. Always working so hard and enjoying it. You loved life and gave it your all. Dancing and sports were pleasing to you and you embraced them with a smile and excitement. Your family meant everything to you and you were always so proud of your children and their place in life. Your specialty was being a triplet, so proud and always excited about being part of each other. You were loved by so many, for you made so many smile and be happy.
We will miss you terribly, but know that you will always be in our hearts and we will always think of you with a smile on our face and laughter in our hearts, which is your gift to us.
