Although I didn't know Candy I felt I had from knowing her sister Suzanne Mudge of whom I am thinking on this day of her birthday. I'd love to hear from you, Suzie Mudge.

I just found out of the passing of Candy. We grew up together. She was a special person. I remember when we were little and walked to school together. After I moved away, I thought about all my friends that I missed so much and she was one of them.

Candy ~ I considered myself very fortunate to have lived across the street from you during H.S. years. I enjoyed our talks the times we'd take walks downtown. Thank you for your beautiful personality and kind heart . I wish we could have met up before you left this world, I think we would have had a great time. My thoughts and prayers are with Tommy, Trey and the rest of her family.

Candy - my memories of you are from our classes together in Jr. High and High School. Cheerful, funny, kind, and most of all, your beautiful smile. I'm sorry that your life has ended so soon, but I'm sure you made the best of the years you have had. My sympathy to your family and loved ones.

In 1963/64 I was a senior at EHS, and Candy was a junior. She was my girlfriend, and we went to Homecoming, the Prom and many double dates with my friends Menzie and Werner. I thought she was the cutest girl in the world. It was puppy love and I was a puppy. In 1991 I visited my late sister Beth in Mabou which, by remarkable coincidence, was Candy's home also. We had coffee at the Mull, then dinner in Port Hood. We talked and talked, about being young in Edwardsville and growing older. I continued my trip the next day, but couldn't help thinking that she was probably the cutest gal in Mabou (sorry, Sis), and maybe all of Cape Breton Island. Candy, the world is going to miss you and your smile.

I first knew Candy when we sang together in Mrs. Thatcher's Girl Scout badge group in the basement at St. Andrew's. I had never heard another child sing as beautifully as she did. We reunited in the same seventh grade class and proceeded to laugh together all the way from junior high through high school. After high school, I saw her in Evanston before Ann was born, and then we lost touch. I'm so happy to learn that she lived a productive life filled with progressive activism, community, and music. I'm sure she will be greatly missed.

I'm so sorry to hear of Candy's passing. Although I haven't visited with her for quite a few years, I always enjoyed her humor and lively spirit. I know she will be sadly missed by her loving family.

I treasure the memories I have of growing up with Candy: surviving sleepless sleepovers, hiking and biking the 'hood, trespassing at the Shale Pit, and visiting "Gigi" and "Gammy" en route home from Brownies/Girl Scouts at the old "Y." Great times! Candy was brilliant, talented, and hilarious, but most of all, she was a dear friend.

Candy was my dearest friend during our teenage years. We especially bonded over music, singing and playing the piano together. My deepest sympathy to Susie, Trey, Tommy, Greg, and all of the family.

Please accept my offering of sympathy. We enjoyed many good times together growing up. She shared her interests and love of gardening a few years back. So sorry to hear. Condolences to her family.

Candy, you were one of my favorites growing up in Edwardsville. So smart, funny and such a pleasure to have as a classmate and friend. I've missed you.
