1925 - 2014
Died on February 13, 2014 at CHLD Marcelle- Ferron in Brossard after a relentless battle with Alzheimer's. Daughter of the late Mary Bujorean, she leaves behind her husband of 87 years Romi Szawlowski, her sons, Richard, William (Margaret) and Stephen (Colleen ), her grandsons Justin (Ashleigh), and Ryan, her great-granddaughter Kayleigh, and nephew Karl (Brenda). Born in Montreal, attended Alexandra Grade School and Strathearn High School, Graduated with B.A. Applied Social Science, Concordia University. Tina was a sweet, loving, gentle person authentic in every way who will be missed greatly by all who knew her. As wife and partner, Tina provided loving and stable support in all family activities. Tina looked after her family in all possible ways ensuring their physical and mental wellbeing. When the boys left home she found usefulness as sales lady rising to management position. When that was insufficient she enrolled in a degree programme at Concordia University. Tina loved crafts and sewed garments for her family and herself with great pride. Tina's nights out were with Busy Bees of Greenfield Park and with T.O.P.S. Busy Bees produced crafts for the needy while TOPS provided group help to monitor body weight and engage in social activities. Tina enjoyed very much being with people in both groups and made many friends. Tina's hobbies were sewing, gardening and music appreciation. Her choices in music varied. A passage in Romanian Rhapsody always brought out tears. We wish to thank everyone at Marcelle- Ferron for their great service and care for Tina's wellbeing. Visitation will be Monday February 17, 2014, 11 AM to 1:00 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White, 307 Promenade Riverside, St-Lambert Quebec J4P 1A7. Burial at Mount Royal Cemetery will follow visitation.

Dear Mr. Romi and family,
I just heard of your wife/mother's passing.
She was a very special lady - very caring and a very sweet neighbor. I will never forget how she ran across the street with a bag of her home grown tomatoes to welcome me and my family into the neighborhood.
We are sadden by your loss and know you can count on us at all times.

Sincerest condolences to the Szawlowski family. Tina was one of the warmest people I ever knew. The Szawlowskis were great neighbors and friends to grow up with.

Steve,
We remember your mother's kind nature from our days in St. Lambert. I was fortunate to get to know her better at Concordia, where she and I were working towards our APSS degrees.
She was a vibrant woman who was a joy to be around. We are so sorry for your loss.

Without doubt, My Mom, our Mom, my Dad's dearest wife of 68 years, was the best Mom in the world. From the moment I can remember, until days before her passing, she was the best Mom in the world. Hers was a life to be proud of. Throughout my life, she not only taught me, but gave me, gave us, the finest qualities a human being could ever possess. And, not only in words, but in everyday, day to day, actions. She provided unconditional love. She was loyal and hard working without ever a complaint. She showed me the traits of honesty and being truthful. She was giving and continuously growing from the raising of her three sons, then becoming a manager of a fabric store, to returning to University to attain her Bachelor's degree. She was a no nonsense mother yet portrayed hope, humor, courage and pride. She loved music, dance, singing and sewing. Of utmost importance she was always there and fiercely proud of her family. She is responsible for who I am, who we all are,today. She will greatly and forever missed but will always be in our hearts. She was, without doubt, the best Mom in the world.
