CECELIA BOWER Obituary
Age 99, formerly of North Braddock, on Sunday, July 12, 2015, Cecelia Heupler Bower, passed into life eternal. She was born on January 19, 1916, in North Braddock to the late George and Mary Kriegelsteiner Heupler. She is survived by seven children and their spouses Bernadette (William) Page, Kathleen (Michael) Pratko, George (Sandy) Bower, Charles (Donna) Bower, Maria (Charles) Swearingen, Marianne (Mark) Yuill, and Virginia Bower; ten grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Bower, Sr.; a daughter, Cecelia Thomas; and her brothers, Rev. Charles Heupler, O.F.M. Capuchin, and Dr. Fred Heupler. Mrs. Bower was a 1933 graduate of Scott High School and a 1936 graduate of Saint Francis College. Calling hours with the family will be on Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. in the SCHLEIFER FUNERAL CHAPEL, INC., (412- 271-1361), 534 Jones Avenue, North Braddock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church of Good Shepherd Parish on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow next to her husband in All Saints Cemetery, Braddock Hills.

Dear family of Cecilia Bower,
My husband and I enjoyed knowing Cecilia. She was a favorite patient of ours and we always looked forward to seeing her at her appointments. We will miss her. Her kindness and her gentleness will live on in our memories.

So sorry I could not be at the Funeral Mass. I have so many connections to Cecelia's family. She was a close friend of my mother Dorothy Krevy. Her brother Fred delivered me. Her daughter Virginia was a classmate of mine at St. Joseph's Grade School. Her brother Fr. Charles taught me German two years at St. Fidelis Seminary. May choirs of angels sing her to her rest!

Your mom was a sweet next-door neighbor that I remember from my very young childhood on Kirkpatrick Street. She had a big smile and I always enjoyed her distinct laugh! I was impressed that she never forgot us as the years went by and we'd stop in to visit her. Sending my love, sympathy and prayers to all of you.

I never got to meet Cecelia but she always remembered the Braddock Carnegie Library with a kind note every year. I spoke with her daughter at the funeral home & it just now occurred to me that I went to school with Marianne Bowers - I am so sorry I didn't make the connection until now! Your mother was a dear, sweet person who will be missed by many. My condolences to you all.

Dear FAMILY,
Our HEARTS & PRAYERS are sent to ALL of her loved ones. We always felt like FAMILY to YE & have many wonderful memories of Kirkpatrick St.
I'm so glad I Got to visit with your Mom last year. We had a great visit even though it was short! We shared a GOOD LAUGH too which I'm sure she told YE about! It was a KODAK moment for sure!)
My family often speaks of YE. We will never forget THE GOOD TIMES!

So thankful for my last memory of Aunt Cecelia. My dad and I went to Pittsburgh and took her out on a memory tour of her beloved Braddock and to her favorite restaurant. She was always so happy and so fiercely independent. She was a kind and wonderful woman. I am sad that my dad did not have the chance to come visit her this Thursday, as he had planned. My thoughts and prayers are with my cousins at this difficult time, dealing with the loss of their mother/grandmother. RIP Aunt Cecelia....

Your Mom was a great person, loving and kind. She lived in the next apartment to my mom. My mom Mary Pintek lived in 507 at Briton Towers. She watched out for my mom. She is in our prayers.
