Charles MADILL Obituary
February 17, 1924 - October 13, 2016
Our dear father, grandfather, and great- grandfather passed away peacefully with his family at his side, just four months after the death of his loving wife of 72 years, Ellie. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Chuck was predeceased by his son, Pat, and daughter-in-law, Sidney. He is survived by his daughter, Cherie; his grandchildren, Janet (Colin) Cook, Ehren (Emily) Madill, Paul (Rae Lyn) Hennessy, Adrienne (Mark) Guinn, Seann (Jenn) Madill, and Wayne (Bridget) Hennessy; as well as his eleven great-grandchildren. Chuck was well known for his big smile and his generous heart. He and Ellie made everyone feel welcome, loved, and very special. Chuck was born and lived in Nanaimo all his life. He was a successful Nanaimo businessman and a member of the Nanaimo Harbour Commission, Nanaimo Yacht Club, Nanaimo Golf Club, and Nanaimo Gyro Club. A private celebration of life will be held for both Chuck and Ellie. The family would like to thank the nurses and care aides from Island Health and Nurse Next Door for their wonderful care and compassion. Flowers gratefully declined. Please consider making a donation in memory of Chuck to Nanaimo Child Development Centre, 1135 Nelson Street, Nanaimo, BC V9S 2K4.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time.Chuck (and Ellie) were both wonderful advocates for children with develomental challenges. Their memory lives on by the legacy they have left behind.

My dearest sympathies go out to the Madill family. Chuck was as nice as he has genuine and always very supportive of me in my roll at Madill after he left. I can't think of anyone on the Island with a greater legacy he built going back to the 50's
