My wife and I had Dr. Wunderlich in fall of 1964 for the Music Appreciation course. We both agree that it was one of our best courses at Mansfield both for music and our meeting each other in that class, dating, and marrying in 1968. In August we will celebrate 50 years together and a part of our party will include classical music. Dr. Wunderlich's class opened our collective eyes to how music is constructed, it evolution, and its themes (and variations). His "drop the needle" tests are fondly remembered. Some of the less musically inclined in the class would memorize the LABEL colors of the records. Dr. W. caught on quickly and placed cutout disks over the labels, much to the chagrin of some of the students. (Students in Dr. Bencetick's art class did much the same thing with the cathedral slides -- they memorized how many cars were parked in front of the edifices and did their ID work that way). Today, whenever we listen to a symphony, we are still hearing and identifying three part form, theme and variations, sonata-allegro form and so much more. Our radios are tuned to either the local classical music station or NPR. Our lives continue to be enriched by what we learned in his class. We both sing in church choir and Tanya plays recorder with a local group. We have made music and/or sung with several other groups and sung some of the great choral works including Mozart's Requiem and Orff's Carmina Burana. Thank you, Dr. Wunderlich. Rest in peace. Our condolences to your family and friends.

Fran, Stephen, & Jon,
We were sorry to hear that Charles had passed. Your family was instrumental in helping our family acclimate to the Mansfield area so many years ago. I have fond memories of conversations with Charles, he was a wealth of information.
We wish you peace.
