CHESTER KOLASKI Obituary
Through the Humanity Gifts Registry, Chester donated his body and it was transported to the University of Pennsylvania Medical School for Parkinson's research and anatomical study.
Beloved Husband of 63 years to Irene (nee Drzewicka); devoted Dad to Kenneth M. Kolaski (Cynthia), Kat M. Kolaski (Steven), and Denise M. Kolaski (Alvin); adoring Pop-Pop to Allie, Catherine, Elizabeth, Brandon, Niki, Robbie (Christhian), and Tony; Great-Grandfather to Jayden. Chester is also survived by his youngest brother, Joseph, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Known by all for his quick wit and sense of humor, and his beautiful blue eyes, Chester was born the son of Polish immigrants, and lived most of his life in Philadelphia. He loved sports, especially football, played semi-pro for the Venango Bears and was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. A Korean War Veteran, Chester served as a military policeman. For almost 30 years, Chester worked as an electrician at the Jack Frost Sugar plant (better known as "the Sugar House") on Delaware Avenue. Thereafter, until he retired in 1993 at age 65, Chester worked for The City of Philadelphia Water Department at the Belmont water treatment facility. A devoted family man, Chester loved his wife, Irene, took great joy in helping his children at every stage of their lives, and was most delighted to play and laugh and be silly with his grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Mass for Chester Kolaski, to be held at 11 A.M., on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at St. Jerome Church, 8100 Colfax St., Phila. PA 19136. A luncheon reception will follow the Mass. In lieu of flowers, Mass Cards or other gifts and remembrances, donations in memory of Chester Kolaski to The Parkinson Council, either online at

I did not know Mr. Kolaski personally but his unselfish desire to contribute to the cure for Parkinson's speaks volumes about this man. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kolaski Family.
