Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Patterson Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Christopher will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.

To the Patterson Family,

God bless your son Christopher Alexander Patterson. God bless your family as well and keep you strong in your faith. May your friends and community comfort and care for you. While I never had the pleasure of meeting Chris, I am a Chorale parent and had the pleasure of hearing him sing! I have attended many concerts and have always been amazed by the power and the beauty of the music, and the joy and dedication of the musicians. I am from a military family and have worked for the VA for 25 years. Your loss has touched me very deeply. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I also never knew Christopher but can't hold back tears over his sacrifice for our country. I have a child at West Aurora and thought what a wonderful thing today to have the students pay respect to their fellow classmate. RIP Christoper

Mr. and Mrs. Patterson,
Chris was one of my all time favorite students. He was such a smart, kind and all around great kid! He will be missed by so many. I want to extend my sympathy to you and Carl.
Chris is a hero, and I am proud to have known him.

January 20, 2012

I never knew Christopher, but as I was driving with my young son in the back seat to pick up my other son from preschool this morning, his funeral procession stopped me in my tracks. I took that moment to reflect on what Christopher and his family had to sacrifice for the safety and freedom of my own family and all of the other families in this country. I'm so sorry for your loss, Patterson family, and I thank you for having made the ultimate sacrifice to make this country a better place.

Bob and Mary, you must be feeling such sorrow, and yet huge pride in the Christian, the Soldier, and the Son you raised. Thank you for sharing Chris with all of us. Surely his decision to become a soldier came from the example his parents and brothers showed. Please know I share your pride in him, and thank him for his service and sacrifice.

Mary,
So sorry to hear the sad news about Chris. My heart goes out to you for your precious loss. To lose a son is one of the most devastating experience's a mother can face. I know, I have felt the unbearable pain!
Suddenly, everything has changed! But, remembering all the wonderful times you shared together will always comfort you. And at times such as this, as a grieving mother, may the God Of Love, sustain you with His promise of Hope! When He will soon end all injustice and suffering on the earth.
"He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more........"
