Colleen Murphy-Sanborn Obituary
Left to honor and remember her love are her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews, and stepgrandchildren. Her infectious laugh and Irish humor lives on in her grandchildren, Finn, Jack, Luke and Rose.
Colleen was predeceased by her husband, Roy Sanborn. Colleen was a proud Minnesotan and Sacred Heart alumnus. She was a beloved English teacher at Downers Grove North and Downers Grove South, Ill.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at Adams-Winterfield & Sullivan Funeral Home, 4343 Main St., Downers Grove, Ill. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 2, at St. Joseph Church, Downers Grove. Interment will be private.

I still can hear or visualize Colleen and I speaking about life and our families.
Your mom always made me feel that my life and my three sons' lives were so important to her. Colleen always gave me sound advice about what I should do to help my sons succeed.
I know both of you miss your Mom so much;however, rest assured that she is looking down upon you and smiling because she did such a good job with you two!

I still think of Colleen quite often. She and I shared many stories, ideas, and thoughts about teaching English.
She always made me feel like my ideas had merit, and she would help me if she could.
We always talked about our kids; Aileen and Tom you were her total life just like my three boys.
I can't believe it has been about a year since Colleen left us. My good friend, Colleen, you will always be in the memories of all who knew you.

To Colleen Murphy's Family,
I am so sorry to hear that Colleen passed away.
When I arrived at DGS, she was the first person to make me feel welcome and special. She had that kind of personality that made others want to be around her.
We shared many stories about her children and my children. She provided guidance and comfort on a daily basis.
I am sorry that I was unable to attend the services; we did not know about them.
She, and Tom and Aileen, will always be in our prayers and thoughts.
May you rest in peace my good friend.
