Constance “Connie” E. (Field) Bauer, 66, of Maple Street, Mansfield, died on Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood as she was surrounded by the love of her family. She was the wife of William “Bill” Joseph Bauer to whom she was married on June 3, 1960.

Born in Gardner, Maine on April 27, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Keith Stanley Field, former Vice President and General Manager of WARA radio in Attleboro and who died on January 17, 1987 and the late Blanche Myrtle (Billings) Field who died on November 4, 2002.

Her father’s involvement in start-up radio productions had the family living in several communities prior to settling in North Attleboro in 1950. She immediately enrolled in North Attleboro schools and was a 1958 graduate of North Attleboro High School. She later attended the Rhode Island School of Design.

Following her marriage in 1960, she moved to neighboring Mansfield. She remained a Mansfield resident for the last 47 years while enjoying time at Bungay Lake at the family home on Oakridge Avenue. She attended the Orthodox Congregational Church, Mansfield.

While her sons were growing up, she was a volunteer Den Mother for the local Cub Scout troop.

A creative woman, she enjoyed expressing her abilities through floral designing and arranging and her ability to bake and meticulously decorate cakes, in particular, wedding cakes.

She designed the family home on Maple Street that was then built by her husband and father-in-law.

As a homemaker, her legacy is one of a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother.

In addition to her husband of almost 47 years, she leaves a son: Glen J. Bauer of North Attleboro; a daughter-in-law: Liliana Bauer of Mansfield; three grandsons; a granddaughter and a sister: Sharon Williams and her husband, James Williams, of Clearwater, Florida. She was the mother of the late William “Billy” Bauer. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, March 8, 2007 from 4:00 – 6:45 PM in the “Memorial Chapel” of the DYER-LAKE FUNERAL HOME, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
