ROONEY – Daniel J., 71, died Sept. 3, 2009, at his home in Kalamazoo, Mich. He was born Feb. 1, 1938, in Johnstown, the son of Charles and Margaret (Timothy) Rooney. Dan retired in 2008 from Joe's Produce in Livonia, Mich. He was preceded in death by brothers, Charlie and John Rooney. Surviving are sons, Kevin and Chris Rooney; grandchildren, Kevin and Patty Rooney; sisters: Rosie Foley, Mary Ann (Michael) Nalewako, Suzanne (Dennis) Farmer and Patricia Rooney; former wife, Sarah N. Rooney; and many nieces and nephews. Learn more about Dan, view his life story film, and share in some refreshments with his family and friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Life Story Funeral Home, Betzler-Kalamazoo; (800) 822-7594. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery. My condolences to the Rooney family. Dan was a classmate of mine at J.C.H.S. and I have many fond memories of him.
