I remember when the Wayman family lived "in the country" in the late 1940's. I was fascinated by the radio they had as it was battery operated and was "turned on" mainly to listen to the news. I'm not sure if electricity was available for home use at that time!

Danny and I enjoyed (along with so many of our Philadelphia childhood friends) the best of times. No worries. Walked to and from Philadelphia Grammar School together, stopped on way home at McCrary's or Thompson's store for Dr. Pepper or Coke, pastry dessert and if any money left over (usually none) we would buy baseball cards. Most of our elementary school years and all of our time at L.H.S. we were usually together on school day afternoons and in the summer playing baseball, football, etc. We also spent our high school years weekends working the White Store in Loudon. So many good memories of our times together!
