David Jennings, 63, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, March 16, 2023. David was born in Helena, Arkansas, on July 21, 1959, to Dewey Lee and Elizabeth Anne Jennings. David moved to Jonesboro in 1989 from Helena. He was of the Baptist belief. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University with a BS degree in communications. He retired from the Jonesboro Fire Department with 25 years of service. He also worked for Emerson Ambulance Service for over 20 years. In addition to all of his work experience, he was a softball coach for both of his daughter's softball teams. David was an active supporter of the American Cancer Society and Camp Sunshine. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys fan. But, most of all, he loved life and his family. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Ashlee Elmore and husband, David; Allison Grant of Paragould; three grandchildren, Willa Grant, Harrison Grant and Amelia Elmore.
A memorial service will be 2:00 Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time. Burial will be private. Honorary pallbearers are members and retirees of the Jonesboro Fire Department, and members and retirees of Emerson Ambulance Service. Funeral honors will be done by the Jonesboro Fire Department.
